About Us
Built on Reputation.
Six years. 200+ projects. One rule: never put your name on work you wouldn't be proud of.
Our Story
Started on the Tools. Still on the Tools.
Black Dragon Construction was founded in 2018 by George Makis, a licensed builder who spent 12 years as a carpenter and site foreman before going out on his own. The name came from a conversation on a job site — a client said George worked with the intensity of a black dragon. It stuck.
We started with residential renovations in the Inner West and grew through word of mouth. No cold calls, no billboard advertising — just clients who trusted us enough to send their friends and family. Today we operate across Greater Sydney, taking on new homes, commercial builds, knockdown rebuilds, and everything in between.
What hasn't changed is the way we work.George still visits every active site at least twice a week. Every project has a dedicated site supervisor. And every client gets a fixed-price contract before a single sod is turned.
